Canadians aka the Renovators
What recession?!
According to the National Post ”Canadians are prodigious decorators and renovators. Just take a peek at Houzz.com. The site, which contains a massive database of home-design ideas and had 1.5 million unique Canadian visits in July, recently conducted a Houzz & Home Study that revealed 72% of Canadians will tackle home decor in the next two years, while 40% of us will build an addition, or remodel a portion or all of our abode. Louise Heggie, Business Development Director, at RemoteStylist.com concurs. “Since 2008 we’ve seen a downturn in families ‘moving on up’ in the real estate world. Instead they are remodelling and refurnishing to make the current situation more appealling. It’s all about stretching dollars and in a posh way, and frankly they should if they can afford it. It’s happening all around us and a major driver in why we created Remote Stylist in the first place. Budget comes out in every conversation – around here we think budget should be allocated to the goods or product and not to the service!”
