There are 82 million hectares of protected land in Canada alone. We thrive on the fact that we have huge bodies of fresh water all over our country. In big cities we are adamant about making the roads friendly to bikers to promote greener ways of travel. It only makes sense that our design companies make the switch.
And LooLo textiles have done just that. Founded by Joanna Notkin, Loolo is based out of Montreal and thrives on the idea of producing sustainable textiles. They are committed to the design process and believe that a good design equals a sustainable one. But how does a textile company go about being green?
First, Loolo tries to use only raw Canadian materials that would have little, to no, negative impact on the earth. They are usually fully biodegradable so that they compost and in a year will be reabsorbed into the earth.
Check out Loolo and support a Canadian supplier while being environmentally conscious.

Check these out…pillow cases that actually change colours. Textile designer Kathy Schicker has just launched a line of light reactive woven textiles. Jury’s hung on whether ‘glow-in-the-dark’ defies the purpose of sleeping or our living room is going to be super sexy at night. We have yet to get our hands on them, but are working on it: stay tuned.
Sisters Cyrille and Lise Gulassa definitely got the creative genes from the family! Despite the fact it’s a chore to keep up with our siblings who live in the same city, these ladies have blended their individual styles to create beautiful surface prints from two separate continents -Lise in California and Cyrille in Vienna!
Their refreshing collection blends vibrant flowers and strong patterns creating a visual wonderland. Whether it’s their boutique in Vienna or a custom-design we’re certain your biggest hardship will be picking just one print!
Of note, they love dolling out free swag monthly on their blog. Who doesn’t love that?!
